Radiant Health sauna review

The short version: Radiant Health sells the four-model Pause line; the older Elite line is discontinued. Every Pause runs on a standard household circuit — 120 V at 15 A for the 1- and 2-person, 20 A for the 2.5- and 3-person — with carbon heaters in independently controlled zones, Canadian hemlock, a 149 °F ceiling and an external control panel. The warranty is strong on paper. The returns policy is not a trial. And the saunas are supplied by Sauna360, which is the detail that matters this month, because the recall is a Sauna360 recall.

The Pause line, as Radiant Health publishes it

Staying on 120 V across a 3-person cabin is a genuine design decision, and the cost of it is visible in the wattage: 2,200 W into a 71.5-inch cabin is less heat per cubic foot than a 240 V competitor puts into the same space. What you get back is a sauna that plugs into a wall — no electrician, no panel work, no permit — which for a lot of houses is the difference between buying and not buying. Radiant Health specifies a 6-foot cord at the right rear bottom corner and says not to use an extension cord; our outdoor sauna electrical guide covers why that instruction is not decoration.

The EMF claim

Radiant Health's headline is ultra-low EMF at 0.65 mG on average and EF at 1 V/m on average, with independent testing across more than 25 points in the sauna and a zero-VOC environment, third-party certified with an A+ rating against French VOC standards. The reports themselves are PDF downloads we could not read, and no page we could read names the laboratory, the meter, the measurement distance or the report date. The same 0.65 mG and 1 V/m figures are quoted for all four models, even though wattage ranges from 1,350 W to 2,200 W.

Warranty

• Lifetime on the carbon infrared heaters for residential use.
• Limited lifetime on the solid wood structure.
• Five years on electrical and control components; speakers one year.
• Labor: pre-approved onsite labor for two years from purchase, then factory-performed repairs only.
• Original owner only, installed and used as directed.

Returns: 30 days, unopened

The policy allows returns within 30 days of delivery, but the sauna must remain in its original, unopened packaging — once opened, it is not eligible for return or exchange. A restocking fee of up to $500 applies, plus a 5 percent administrative fee and storage fees if a delivery has to be re-routed, and the customer pays return shipping unless the unit is damaged or defective. There is no home trial. On a five-figure purchase that you cannot evaluate without assembling it, that is a term worth understanding before you order.

What the recall changes about buying one

A recall is not automatically a reason to avoid a brand — how a company handles one tells you more than the fault itself. Radiant Health published a stop-use notice in August 2026, a CEO update later that month, and opened remedy enrollment on 17 September, with a free in-home repair by a professional installer. What a prospective buyer should do is ask, in writing, whether the unit being sold today ships with the corrected boards and fuses, and get the answer before paying. What is not published

• Interior dimensions — the product pages give exterior sizes and bench sizes only.
• Heater wattage per element, heater count or heater surface temperature.
• The EMF, EF and VOC test reports in readable form, or the lab that produced them.
• Per-model EMF measurement, as opposed to one figure quoted across four wattages.
• Bench load rating.

Who this is for

The Pause line is aimed at someone who wants a mid-size cabin without electrical work, and on that narrow question it delivers: 2,200 W on a 20 A household circuit is the most any of these brands puts on a standard outlet at that size. The reasons to hesitate right now are the open recall, the unopened-only return policy, and an EMF claim with no readable evidence behind it.
