By using stoveandsnow.com you accept the terms on this page. If you do not accept them, do not use the site. They apply to everyone who reads it.

What this site is

An independent publication about home saunas and cold plunges. Every page compiles published manufacturer specifications, listing data and published research, together with arithmetic we work out and show. It is written by one named author with no credentials in engineering, electrical work or medicine, and it says so throughout.

What this site is not

  • Not a retailer. We sell nothing, hold no stock, and are not party to any transaction you make with a retailer.
  • Not medical advice. Nothing here diagnoses, treats or prevents anything. Heat exposure and cold water immersion both produce significant physiological responses — talk to a doctor before starting either, particularly with a heart condition, blood pressure issues, during pregnancy, or on medication affecting circulation or thermoregulation.
  • Not electrical advice. Sauna circuits are high-current, permanently installed and in most jurisdictions require a permit and an inspection. Anything on this site about circuits is background for planning a conversation with a licensed electrician, not instructions.
  • Not a substitute for the manufacturer's manual. Where this site and a manual disagree, the manual is right. It describes the specific unit you own; we describe a category.
  • Not a testing operation. We do not test hardware and no page implies otherwise.

Accuracy, and its limits

We compile published specifications and cite sources with the date we checked them. Specifications change, listings change, products are discontinued and prices move constantly — which is why we publish no prices at all. Information here may be out of date by the time you read it.

Verify anything that matters before you spend money on it, particularly wattage, circuit requirements, dimensions and availability. If you find an error, tell us and we will correct it, date the change and describe it.

Affiliate links

This site earns affiliate commission on purchases made through some of its links, at no additional cost to you. The full statement is on the affiliate disclosure page. Commission does not affect rankings or verdicts, and a significant number of pages carry no buy links at all.
