The best 6-person outdoor saunas

Our one-, two-, three- and four-person pages all describe a sauna you buy for a household. Six is the size you buy because other people are coming over, and it changes three things at once: the heater has to be bigger, the bench has to be longer than a person, and the electrical supply stops being a plug and becomes a hardwired circuit. This page is about getting those three right.

The heater is the spec, not the seat count

A "6–8 person" title is the seller's guess at how many people will squeeze in. The heater output is the number that actually scales. Five of the six picks here publish one: Harvia 8 kW on the ZONEMEL panoramic, the Benovo and the Duthss; Harvia 6 kW on the ALEKO; and a wood-burning stove with a chimney kit on the two that need no circuit at all. Wood-fired is the serious alternative at this size

At one- and two-person size, wood firing is a preference. At six, it is often the practical answer: no 40 A run, no permit for the electrical work, and the temperature ceiling goes up rather than down — the ZONEMEL wood-fired barrel publishes 195 °F. The costs move rather than disappear. You need a chimney with proper clearances, somewhere dry to keep wood, and forty-five minutes of tending before anyone sits down. Interior dimensions, not exterior

Two of the picks here publish both. The ZONEMEL panoramic is 75 × 94.5 × 75 inches outside and 69 × 88 × 69 inches inside; the wood-fired ZONEMEL is 71 × 94 × 71 outside and 68 × 88 × 68 inside. Roughly three inches a side disappears into the wall. That matters at this size because 88 inches of bench depth is what lets a tall adult lie flat while five other people sit — which is the actual difference between a six-person room and a four-person one. Delivery, base and assembly

• Weight. The Benovo publishes 1,500 lb, the Duthss 650 lb. Sun Home publishes 1,874 lb for the six-person Solaris and asks for a level, load-bearing pad with 6 inches of clearance on each side. None of these is a two-person carry.
• The base. A level, drained pad, sized before delivery — see our foundation guide.
• Assembly. The Benovo includes installation, excluding the electrical work, which at this size is a genuine saving rather than a bullet point.

Where premium sits

Sun Home's Solaris 6-Person is the benchmark for a built outdoor room at this capacity, and its published Key Features are a useful yardstick for everything above: thermo-alder, a HUUM HIVE Mini 9 kW heater, a 230 °F maximum, a dedicated 40 A hardwired circuit and a three-year warranty. The one we would skip

Any "8-person" barrel that publishes no heater output. Capacity in a title costs the seller nothing. A published kilowatt rating, a certification mark and an interior dimension are the three things that cannot be exaggerated, and a listing missing all three at this size is selling a number rather than a room.
