Almost Heaven Saunas: what the documentation says
One of the few sauna brands that manufactures in the US and says so. Here is what the listing publishes, what it leaves out, and what we found when we checked availability.
Almost Heaven is one of the more established names in US home saunas and one of very few in this category that manufactures domestically. It sells primarily through a dealer network, with some marketplace presence — which is a pattern this whole category follows and which shapes what a buyer can find out before committing.

Six of eight rows are gaps. That is thinner than most of the outdoor sauna listings we surveyed, and it means the marketplace is not where this brand can be evaluated — the dealer conversation is.
Why US manufacture matters, and where it does not
It does not make the sauna hotter. A correctly sized 6 kW heater produces the same heat wherever the cabin was built, and domestic manufacture is not a heat specification.
Where it plausibly matters is parts and support. A brand manufacturing domestically with a dealer network is a brand you can get a replacement panel, a door seal or a bench board from in year eight. That is a genuine long-term advantage over an anonymous import, and it is the same argument we make about named-brand heaters in best sauna heaters.
What to ask a dealer
Since the marketplace listing publishes so little, these are the questions that actually decide the purchase — and they apply to any barrel or cabin brand, not just this one:

What we could not verify
- Wood species and grade for any specific model, from published material.
- Heater brand and output on the marketplace listing.
- Roof covering, included or not.
- Current availability — the listing we checked read as unavailable, which may well have changed since.
None of that is evidence of a deficiency in the product. It is evidence that this brand is not evaluable from a marketplace listing, which is worth knowing before you try.

A named Harvia heater, four-person capacity and a published roof covering — on this site's own order of priority, the heater comes first and the roof third, and this is the only barrel in stock that publishes both. The wood is Japanese cedar rather than the western red cedar we would otherwise argue for.

What works
- A Harvia heater means a published spec sheet, a rated room volume and a real parts channel
- Publishes a roof covering and a structural load rating, which barrels rarely do
- 6 kW is properly sized for a four-person barrel volume
What doesn't
- Japanese cedar, not western red cedar — a named species, but not the one this site argues for outdoors
- Sauna stones are not included, so budget for a load of them
- A 240 V run to the yard is a real, permitted expense, and delivery is a curbside freight drop
Skip it ifyour yard has no realistic path for a 240 V run. Trenching a circuit to the back of a garden regularly costs more than the sauna, and it is not a corner worth cutting.

4.5 kW into a three-to-four person barrel is the sweet spot almost nobody points at: properly sized for the volume, on the smallest circuit that will do the job.

- 'Three to four person' means three adults, realistically
- Spruce rather than cedar, so expect more upkeep outdoors
- The listing does not publish the circuit, so have an electrician size it
Skip it ifyou want a genuinely hot barrel in a cold climate. In sub-freezing ambient temperatures 4.5 kW struggles, and you should step up to 6 kW or more.
