The band question nobody asks
Worth pulling out because it is genuinely useful and almost never mentioned in reviews. A barrel sauna is held together by steel bands around staves that expand and contract with heat and moisture. Those bands need periodic tightening — not often, but not never — and a barrel with bands that have loosened will leak heat and eventually open gaps at the joints.
Ask whether the bands are adjustable and what the maintenance interval is. A manufacturer with a clear answer has thought about the product's life beyond delivery. It is on our winter maintenance checklist for exactly this reason.

How to think about brand at all in this category
